Welcome to Breaking Bread,
Summer ‘24, rather abruptly brought me into my 30s, and to start this decade off on the right foot, I’ve decided to do some good work.
Leaning on my 12 weeks in East Cork, I’m going to find out whether or not I learned anything at the Ballymaloe Cookery School (Darina Allen anxiously laughs).
Here’s the playbook;
- On ten occasions, I’ll be playing chef and cooking for friends old and new.
- I’ll be donating my time, the ingredients list will be sponsored and the diners will be asked to donate whatever they can spare.
- The donations collected over the course of the ten dinner parties will be signed over to some worthy cause (charity suggestions welcome) on July 11th, 2025.
I’m excited to break bread with some great folk, weather the kitchen nightmares that come from it and raise a few pound.
If my name pops up on your phone over the coming weeks or months, well, answer at your peril…
